New Man Selection - Spring 2010

The Texas Cowboys seek the top leaders from the student body.  In order to remain the most respected organization on campus, active participation in the selection process from alumni and administration is vital.  Each Spring and Fall semester a reception is hosted by the alumni association for all interested applicants.  We have been fortunate to have several prestigious speakers participate in this event, and provide information on the importance of The Texas Cowboys to The University and community at large.  Past speakers include Dr. Larry Faulkner - President of The University; Dr. James Vick - former Vice President of Student Affairs; and Deloss Dodds - Athletic Director.  An average of 100 applications are received each semester.  From those, approximately 50 are interviewed by members of the organization, administration and alumni association representatives.  20-25 students each fall semester and 25 each spring semester are selected to join the organization.  All alumni are strongly encouraged to take part in all aspects of our extensive selection process.  We think you will be impressed by the quality of applicants we receive each semester.  To find out more information about either of these events, or to attend, please contact John P. Limits to membership are 20 students in the fall, and 25 in the spring.)  Greeks can make up no more than 2/3 of New Man class.
